The Darkening System is a pigeon racing training technique. What it actually does is trick the pigeon's biological clock. It does this to increase the maturity rate for the pigeon, as well as moult the pigeon's body feathers, yet of course keep the flight feathers. You end up having a pigeon that is ahead of it's class at this point.
