The Reptiles of Madagascar

While you will undoubtedly see many different species of animal during a Madagascar wildlife holiday, there is one variety of animals that will be of great interest to a select group of travellers: the island's indigenous reptiles. While Madagascar's photogenic mammals are well-known and beloved, the reptiles are equally fascinating and considered just as compelling by some. Because relatively few species of reptiles were introduced throughout the island's history, it is all the more incredible that the reptilian population has nevertheless diversified into over 260 different species.
